Bloggin' with Ty.

Welcome to Extreme Make Over: Home Edition Online! I've put together this little site to pay homage to such a great show. I have a somewhat personal connection, as my aunt was featured in one of the first season makeovers, and it truly changed her and her family's lives. ABC was absolutely amazing, and the cast was just as nice (especially Ty) as they are on TV. Anyways, read on. - Jamie

> Shameless plugs
Saturday Nov 26

Does anyone else think the Sears plugs are a bit ridiculous? I mean it is nice of them to sponsor the show (granted it's great advertising), but seriously we don't need to hear Sears every 10 seconds! We get the picture and hitting us over the head with it makes Sears look a lot less "caring". Just a rant of mine.

> Tomorrow Night is a FULL Xtreme
Saturday Nov 26

Tomorrow night (sunday) at 8PM the "Lewis" Family will get makeover. This episode is from El Sugundo California (not too far from me) and is supposed to be a DUESY! Back to back episodes will be airing so you can get a full night with one amazing project. The husband of the family is a police officer and his wife has cancer. I am predicting another tear-jerker here. So keep the Kleenex close.

The forums have been hacked! This is ridiculous. I apparently lost all of the posts in there! That part really makes me steamed. So we are going to have to start from scratch. Sorry to all of our members.

> Novak Family gets the SHAFT
November 20, 2005

Okay, the Novak Family has an episode on Dec. 4. They are getting the total shaft. Their guest performer is Uncle Kracker. I would be pissed. Perhaps ABC spent all their budget building an awesome house. I hope they didn't pay him. Read the article Here

> The DVD!
November 23, 2005

I was so stupid. I forget to let everyone know that the DVD is out. It has a select 13 episodes plus 2 bonus specials on there. I havn't got it yet, but of course I will. And to top that off, $1 of every sale goes to help Katrina victims. Visit amazon to order your copy!

> Ratings!
November 24, 2005

The ratings have been insane for the show. Almost 16 million people have been watching on average. ABC is loving this and is thinking about spinning off more shows. I personally don't think this is a good move. It will take away from Home Edition. We don't want to end up with the CSI setup where a viewer gets confused as to what is going on because there are 9 versions. And don't get me started on the Apprentice. Martha stewart is killing Donald b/c she is snaking a few million viewers. Anyways, i've sent an email to ABC voicing my concerns. Of course nobody will read it, but still, it feels nice to vent a little. Regardless of a spin-off or not, the show is kicking serious a$$ and we can expect a 4th season for sure.

> Veronica Ginyard
November 25, 2005

This was one of those great episodes that only come around a few times a season. The X Team helps out a really poor woman that has like 10 kids. Not only that, she has 2 sets of twins! The house they currently live in is tiny. I mean it is meant for 3 people MAX! Veronica is a sweet and strong woman and she deserves a nice save home for her kids.

Currently the house is really dangerous, especially for little ones. There are electric wires sticking out everywhere! The house has really bad mold problems which can make you sick. There are holes in the walls and the place is just generally run-down. Half of the kids live in the attic or basement. Veronica works two full time jobs only to barely make ends meet. This episode is so great because you can't really imagine this family living without getting some help. I would say this family was in more need than any family to ever be on the show.

In this eppy, the design team has real problems because the house is so out of code. The family of course had a great time on vacation in Disney World. To top things off, at the end of the episode, Patti LaBelle sings for the family. It was truly amazing.

> Teas Family
Friday Nov 25

This episode is mammoth. The extreme team is not only working on a single home (which takes a lot of work) but they are also making over an entire camp (Camp Barnabas). This family is truly deserving and has a great story. They spent every cent they had to create a camp for kids with disabilities.

Not only did they spend all their savings, but they also had to leave their jobs to run the camp full time. Such an amazing sacrifice paid off for the family. The camp now helps hundreds of kids a year and is doing well. However, due to the humble nature of the Teas Family, they have neglected to do anything to their own home. This is the X-Teams primary focus this week. The results are STUNNING! See the Pictures
